History

Satori was founded in 2003 by two professionals, JF Zand (an architect) and SK Arora (a businessman) who came together over their shared love for Japanese cuisine.

The original concept was to provide a fusion cuisine serving popular dishes from all over Asia with Japanese cuisine being the main feature. However, over the course of the first few months customer feedback showed the direction the company should take and Satori concentrated on becoming more and more authentic as a Japanese restaurant, hiring some of the best Japanese chefs in the industry to work and train other Satori chefs.

Satori is the only conveyor belt restaurant offering a full a la carte menu. Our restaurants are unique with a different ambience and their own Chef's Special Menu. They each also specialise in a different aspect of Japanese cuisine and endeavour to be among the best offering in their field, be it Japanese barbeque, hand rolls or stuffed dumplings.

Innovation

Having been founded by architects and designers, the Satori interior incorporates the latest design, innovation and production techniques without compromising on the quality of the food. Traditional Japanese cooking methods are used to deliver wholesome, healthy food with no artificial flavouring or colouring.

Satori is the first sushi bar to combine a computerised ordering system with a conveyor belt, allowing us to take individual orders for larger items not on the conveyor as well as taking track of the items that are.

Our in-house designed "Clockface Food Cover" system also monitors the length of time items have been on the conveyor belt and allows our customers to clearly see the freshness of our food for themselves.
